Shift Details

• Night shift
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Total 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Emergency Department with 45 beds
• Approximately 160 patient visits per day
• Patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:6+, can be up to 1:8 depending on staffing, acuity, and triage
• Support staff includes ER Techs and transport sitters
• Charting system: EPIC (experience required)
• Scrub color: Black

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Scheduling and Time Off

• Weekend and holiday work may be required based on department needs
• No block scheduling allowed
• Time off requests must be submitted and approved before the offer; no schedule changes allowed after start date

Additional Notes

• No travel pairs allowed
• Locals are accepted
• Must complete annual education sign-offs and required CEUs (e.g., stroke and trauma CEUs if applicable)
• Must comply with floating policy for new assignments or site transfers
• Photo for badge must be a headshot with a plain light-colored background, facing forward, no filters
