Staff Nurse

Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (0.5 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Experience in Management roles
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience with vents
• Experience with vasoactive gtts
• Experience with sedative gtts
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification as required by the home unit assigned

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management
• Administer medications safely according to policy
• Support productivity and resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
• Participate in shared governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review
• Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and mandatory education
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
• Support new employees and students
