RN – Med Surg Neuro

Location

• Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Assignment Details

• Travel position
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend coverage as needed
• Floating required to Med Surg and Progressive units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg experience
• Experience in Charge roles
• BLS
• NIH certification, which may be completed at orientation
• IV therapy competency including care for central lines

Preferred Experience

• Neuro experience
• Stroke experience

Unit Overview

• Neuro Med Surg unit
• 17 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Typical patient population includes medical and surgical neuro patients such as Parkinson’s, stroke, and lumbar cases
• No trauma patients

Additional Expectations

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, unless client-approved exemption is obtained
• Black scrubs required
• Every other full weekend is the standard expectation
• At least one major summer or winter holiday is expected to be worked
• Up to 5 days off in each 13-week period may be automatically approved
• IV therapy competency, including central line care, is part of the role
• Neuroscience nursing course attendance may be assigned by the nurse manager
