ECMO Specialist

Job Overview

  • Location: Greenville, South Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • Contract length: 8 weeks
  • Weekend coverage: Every other weekend, may change based on need
  • Floating: Required between CVICU and PICU

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVICU (1 year of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Adult patients
  • ECMO Specialist experience
  • Adult intensive care experience
  • ECMO ICU experience
  • Experience with Epic

Role Highlights

  • Works with critically ill patients requiring ECMO support
  • Responsible for device management in the ICU
  • May manage ECMO equipment during bedside cannulation and cannula repositioning procedures
  • Works alongside ICU RN and RT staff
  • Assignment includes both pediatric ICU and adult CVICU settings

  • Traumatic injury
  • ARDS / respiratory failure
  • Other critical acute illness requiring ECMO support
