Sonographer
Location
- Morristown, New Jersey
Schedule
- Day shift
- 38 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Either Sunday–Thursday, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM, or Tuesday–Saturday, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM
Role Summary
- Perform adult echocardiography studies in an inpatient cardiac setting
- Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, explain procedures, monitor patients during the exam, and help reduce anxiety
- Set up equipment, review prior reports/images and patient charts, ensure complete imaging, notify the reader of findings, and maintain exam records and supply inventory
Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of Echo Technologist experience
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential through ARDMS or CCI
- Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills
Preferred Qualifications
- TEE experience
- Stress echo experience
- Familiarity with 3D echo imaging
- Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols
- Familiarity with ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards
- Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program
