Radiology Technologist
Job Overview
- Location: Billings, Montana
- Setting: Clinical, non-nursing
- Shift: Night, 10-hour shifts
- Hours: 40 per week
- Contract length: 6 weeks
Role Summary
Performs radiographic procedures, including patient transfer, x-ray examinations, contrast administration per protocol, image quality evaluation, and support of patient care during imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Montana
- Radiology Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT
- CT
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
Required Skills / Experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Experience using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn position-related applications
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic x-ray procedures
- Operate x-ray imaging and related equipment
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for procedures
- Coordinate x-ray examinations for timeliness, quality, and continuity of care
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately
- Submit images and related clinical information for radiologist interpretation
- Evaluate image quality
- Communicate with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership
- Use, charge, and maintain department supplies
- Follow sterile technique and infection prevention policies
- Safely perform x-ray procedures, including patient transfer
- Follow radiation safety measures (ALARA)
- Supervise and evaluate student radiographers in the clinical setting
Additional Requirements
- Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required
