Description

RN - NICU

Overview

  • Travel RN position in Dulles, Virginia
  • 13-week contract
  • 36 hours per week
  • Unit: Special Care Nursery, Level II

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in a(n) Hospital setting

Preferred

  • STABLE certification
  • Nursing certification within specialty

Schedule

  • 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
  • 12 hours of on-call time in addition to scheduled hours

Clinical Setting

  • 5-bed unit, expandable to 6 beds
  • Care for newborns 32 weeks and above
  • Typical responsibilities include IV antibiotics, dextrose infusions, TPN/lipids, PO/NG feeds, umbilical line maintenance, oxygen support, nasal CPAP, surfactant administration assist, and delivery attendance
  • Floating may include postpartum care for well newborns and labor and delivery support at deliveries

Additional Notes

  • Meditech is used in the unit
  • Navy blue scrubs required
