Description
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location
New York, New York
Contract
- 9 weeks
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- 3x12 schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Associate degree in nursing considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit
- 18 beds
- Average unit census: 12
- Staffing guideline: 1–2
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for labor and delivery patients
- Assess patient needs and use critical thinking in care management
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and implementation
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans and discharge needs
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
- Document care accurately and thoroughly
Travel Requirement
- 1 year of travel experience is required for travel positions only; not required for per diem positions
