- 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
Contract Length
- 52 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- Fetal heart monitoring
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Key Responsibilities
- Reassess patient needs and update the plan of care throughout the shift
- Administer medications and evaluate their effects
- Perform treatments and procedures using appropriate nursing practice, sterile technique, standard precautions, and privacy standards
- Document patient care, education, progress toward goals, and responses to care
- Educate patients and families based on assessed needs
- Interpret diagnostic data and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and other care team members
- Use SBAR for handoffs
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
- Manage laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
- Assess fetal status, recognize fetal distress, and apply fetal monitoring equipment
- Assist with placement of UIPC and fetal scalp electrode
- Assess DTRs and magnesium sulfate levels for patients receiving magnesium sulfate for pre-term labor and PIH
