Description
Surgical Technician
Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM; weekend call rotation with a 15-minute response time
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Overview
This role prepares the operating room, maintains the sterile field, and supports the surgical team during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Surgical Technician (1 year of experience)
- Surgical Technician experience within the last year
- BLS
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgery
- Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment
- Set up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions
- Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgery
- Assist with gowning, gloving, and patient positioning
- Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator
- Keep suture carts organized and monitor expiration dates
- Turn over rooms between cases
- Assist with patient transport between cart and bed
- Stock adequate surgical supplies
- Keep records of steam sterilizer use
