Job Overview

• Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan
• Facility type: Inpatient medical telemetry unit
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Weekly hours: 36

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• BLS certification
• 1 year of medical-surgical/telemetry experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to float to like units and patient populations
• Comfortable starting IVs in a setting without an IV team

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• Experience with TURPS-CBI
• Critical Access or Trauma Level 3/4 experience

Unit Details

• 24 inpatient beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11 pm
• Team nursing includes LPN support
• Common patient populations include medical, surgical, and small pediatric cases
• Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge is needed

Schedule Expectations

• Weekend rotation every other weekend, including Friday through Sunday
• 2 of 3 holidays
• Possible on-call or standby assignment
• Scheduling blocks are not guaranteed, though self-scheduling may be accommodated

Orientation

• Day 1: 8 hours of computer education plus 4 hours of shadowing
• Day 2: 12-hour orientation shift
• Day 3: independent practice

Additional Notes

• Candidates within 80 miles are considered local
• Solid professional attire is required
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• Prior employment with the same organization must be disclosed, and a 6-month gap is required before submission if previously employed there
