PACU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Location: Berkeley, California
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Schedule: Day shift, 4x10 hours, Monday–Friday
- Shift details: Variable start times, latest start at 11:00
- On-call: Occasional on-call shift
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours: 40 per week
Unit Details
- Works in Same Day Surgery/PreOp
- Floats between PACU and Same Day Surgery, including Phase I and Phase II areas
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care from admission through discharge
- Assesses patients and monitors for changes in condition
- Coordinates care with physicians, patients, families, and other health team members
- Administers treatments, medications, and nursing interventions
- Responds to medical and environmental emergencies
- Documents and communicates patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes
