Job Opportunity: RN Step Down
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Work on a unit with the greatest need, which may be Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical-Surgical, or Telemetry based on your skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry acute care.
- Accepts RNs with experience in Med-Surg or Stepdown nursing (credentialing is the same for both).
- Must be able to float onsite within your skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Med-Surg and Telemetry experience.
- One completed travel assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current Driver’s License.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Information
- Must complete all required onboarding documentation and training prior to or at the start of the assignment.
- Onboarding includes completion of education attestations, contract worker onboarding, and pre-hire modules.
- Specialty and core competency exams must be updated every 3 years.
- Employment and education verifications must be current and updated annually or after any break in service longer than 90 days.
- Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required based on staffing needs.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry acute care who are comfortable working flexible assignments and floating within their skill set.
