Description
Registered Nurse
Location
- Minocqua, Wisconsin
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
Unit Details
- Medical/surgical, ICU, and intermediate care unit
- 20 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: MS 1:5 days, 1:6 nights; IMC 1:4; ICU 1:2; Pediatrics 1:3–4
Required Qualifications
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- ICU experience
- Ability to titrate drips
- Ability to read rhythm strips
Clinical Experience
- Common patient populations include cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, skin, GI, GU, orthopedic, sepsis, outpatient infusion/transfusion, and pediatric patients
Responsibilities
- Manage titratable drips such as heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, propofol, and norepinephrine
- Float within the facility to ED, urgent care, and PACU as needed, and to Park Falls and Weston as needed
- Participate in call rotation if census is low
Support Staff and Equipment
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- CNAs are available
- Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
- Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators
Orientation
- 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation, plus 1–2 days of on-shift orientation
Dress Code
- Navy scrubs
Additional Notes
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
- Clinicians who have previously worked for this employer must have had an end date at least 6 months before submission
- Clocking in and out at the facility is required
