Neuro ICU RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Baltimore, Maryland
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays required as scheduled
  • Floating required within the specialty to lower-acuity areas as needed
  • On-call may be required
  • Adult and geriatric patient population

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maryland
  • Neuro ICU experience within the last year
  • Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPI certification
  • NIHSS certification

Clinical Setting

  • Neuro ICU
  • 22 beds
  • Average daily census: 21
  • Typical ratio: 1:2, up to 3 with stable lower-acuity patients

  • Intracerebral hemorrhage
  • Subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Status epilepticus
  • Brain tumors
  • Cerebral edema
  • Hydrocephalus

  • CNS infections
  • Post-craniotomy patients
  • Other critically ill neurological conditions
