RN - PCU

Location

  • Chattanooga, Tennessee

Job Type

  • Travel
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13 weeks

Unit Details

  • 30-bed cardiac unit
  • Patient ratio: 6:1
  • Floating may include general med-surg, ortho, PCU, and med-surg surgical with oncology
  • Uses telemetry monitoring
  • Documentation system: Meditech-HCA version

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
  • Chest tube management
  • Wound vac management

Preferred Experience

  • Cardiac knowledge
  • Knowledge of heparin, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, and amiodarone drips

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Chest tube management
  • Wound vac management
  • EKGs as needed
  • Telemetry documentation, rhythm strip review, and charting each shift

Scheduling

  • Every other weekend equivalent: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Work Environment

  • Bedside rounding and hourly rounding with 5P’s
  • Bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms are treated as a no-pass zone
