Description
RN Nephrology
Location
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Nephrology (1 year of experience)
- Nephrology experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Central line care and management
- End of life care and management
- Dialysis site care and management
- Knowledge of HD catheter and fistula access protocols
- Med Surg experience
- Stepdown experience
Skills and Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to hospitalized patients with a range of health problems
- Manages an assigned group of patients
- Documents patient responses and changes in physician orders
- Assists with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Monitors patient data and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications
- Starts, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans and discharge information with patients and families
- Makes referrals for patient care needs
- Delegates tasks to support staff
Preferred Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program
Additional Notes
- Charge experience is a plus
- Familiarity with central line care and management, Foley care and management, end-of-life care and management, and dialysis site care is helpful
