Role overview

  • Provides direct patient and family support and nursing care within RN scope of practice.
  • Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate care.
  • Supports patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs through an individualized plan of care.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and communicates clearly and respectfully with patients and teammates.

Required qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Psychiatric experience with 3 years of experience
  • Psychiatric experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • CPI
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License

  • BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross, valid throughout the assignment
  • CPI certification, valid throughout the assignment
  • Central skills checklist for the assigned unit, fully complete and updated annually
  • Core competency exam with a score of 80% or higher, updated annually
  • 9+ panel drug screen excluding marijuana
  • TB testing
  • MMR immunity documentation
  • Varicella immunity documentation
  • Hepatitis B immunity documentation or declination
  • Tdap within the last 10 years or applicable declination
  • Physical/health statement within the past 12 months showing no restrictions
  • Fit test completed prior to start and within the last 12 months
  • Valid current US driver’s license or US ID
  • Color headshot photo
  • Agency background check
