RN Inpatient Care Coordinator
Location
- Sitka, Alaska

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 8 years of Case Management experience
- Case Management experience within the last year
- 3 years of experience in chart review, risk management, or related quality service
- Utilization Management
- Utilization Review (InterQual)
- Discharge Planning
- Medical Coding
- Utilization Review experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Case Management certification from a recognized certifying organization
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient progression of care and direct patient care services to support timely, appropriate discharge
- Review patient records, evaluate progress, and monitor necessity, appropriateness of hospitalization, length of stay, and quality of care
- Review and validate physician orders and communicate patient progress or unusual occurrences
- Coordinate with physicians, leadership, and the clinical care team to support utilization management, case management, and discharge planning
- Review new admissions to assess patient condition and develop personalized treatment plans
- Communicate with patients and families about healthcare benefits when appropriate
- Support utilization review, appeal processing, complaint response, and documentation requirements
- Provide quality review support and perform tumor registry functions

- Flu vaccine required
- Start date will be no less than 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing
- Housing and flights are not provided
- Applicants must live at least 100 miles away from the facility address
