Description
Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool - RN
Role Overview
- Registered Nurse position in a med-surg resource team/float pool setting
- 13-week contract
- 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
- 36 hours per week, with an option for 48 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Dakota
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Float experience with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience working within a level 2 or higher trauma center
- Experience working in a very fast paced hospital with 250+ beds
- Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Every other weekend and holiday
- Will call in daily to find out the unit assignment for that shift
- Must be willing to float within the med-surg cluster and between campuses in Fargo
Additional Considerations
- Does not accept travelers living within 60 miles of the facility
- Local travel rate applies to travelers living 60 to 80 miles away
- Does not take first-time travelers, except those whose primary experience is resource pool/float pool
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Navy blue scrubs required
Unit Details
- Floating may include med-surg overflow spaces and med-surg status patients within critical care units
- Med-surg specialty areas may include oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 during 7a-11p and 1:5-6 during 11p-7a
Orientation
- Includes one full shift on a med-surg unit and one full shift on another med-surg unit, plus team expectations and campus tours during the first week
