Description
ICU Registered Nurse
Location
- Freeport, Illinois
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Starts ASAP
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license required to submit
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- 2+ years of ICU experience
- Must be able to titrate drips
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation
Unit Details
- 8-bed ICU
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3
- Nurses are expected to run codes
- Telemetry strips are the responsibility of the RNs
- Floating may include MedSurg, Telemetry, and ER with a full patient load
Clinical Experience
- Common patient types include sepsis, general medical, general surgical, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal
- Post-cath recovery may include radial and femoral sites
- Medication mixing may be required
Additional Information
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- Hospitalist is available 24/7
- RT equipment is available
- Care support/unit secretary/CNA support is available when acuity warrants
- Orientation includes 2 twelve-hour shifts
- Professional scrubs of any color are allowed
