Description
Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Nurse
Overview
- Travel contract for an experienced Labor & Delivery / Postpartum nurse in California
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN
- 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery / Postpartum
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- Experience in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum
- No first-time travelers
Schedule & Work Setting
- Every other weekend
- Floating between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum
- 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
- 9 Labor & Delivery beds
- 4 Postpartum beds
- No triage beds
Clinical Environment
- About 55 births per month
- High-risk deliveries
- Patients are 34 weeks and above
- Birth plans are commonly followed
- Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
- OB tech support on day and night shifts
- OB/neonatologist on call
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7
- No IV team
- No call requirement
