    Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Nurse

    Overview

    • Travel contract for an experienced Labor & Delivery / Postpartum nurse in California
    • 13-week assignment
    • Night shift
    • 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

    Required Qualifications

    • Active California RN license
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • NRP
    • AWHONN
    • 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery / Postpartum
    • Must be able to circulate for C-sections
    • Experience in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum
    • No first-time travelers

    Schedule & Work Setting

    • Every other weekend
    • Floating between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum
    • 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
    • 9 Labor & Delivery beds
    • 4 Postpartum beds
    • No triage beds

    Clinical Environment

    • About 55 births per month
    • High-risk deliveries
    • Patients are 34 weeks and above
    • Birth plans are commonly followed
    • Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
    • OB tech support on day and night shifts
    • OB/neonatologist on call
    • Respiratory therapy available 24/7
    • No IV team
    • No call requirement

    Additional Notes

    • COVID vaccine required
    • Hospital-provided scrubs
