Description

Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Overview

  • 13-week contract
  • 36 hours per week
  • 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • Shift: 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, every other weekend

Required Qualifications

  • CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • BLS
  • ARRT (CT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans and may perform general diagnostic radiology exams
  • Prepare patients and explain procedures
  • Review clinical data and patient history before exams
  • Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for reactions
  • Assist with sterile procedures and biopsies
  • Follow radiation protection practices
  • Complete imaging documentation and study indexing in the radiology information system

Work Environment

  • May work in a hospital or ambulatory mobile unit
  • May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
  • May occasionally lift or move equipment or patients over 10 lbs

Additional Notes

  • Level II trauma center
  • Procedure experience is a plus
  • OR experience is a plus
  • Must maintain required continuing medical education hours
