Pediatric Pre/Post Op RN

Job Overview

  • Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Time off: Up to 40 hours can be approved
  • Unit setting: Pediatric peri-anesthesia unit with a 10-bed pediatric preoperative/postoperative area and a 4-bed pediatric surgical observation unit

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Med Surg experience
  • Pediatrics PACU - Post Anesthetic Care experience
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Additional Notes

  • 50-mile radius rule applies
  • The pediatric surgical observation unit provides overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours after surgery
