Cath Lab RN

Job Overview

  • Location: Springfield, Illinois
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Schedule: Day shift, 4x12 hours, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Setting: Acute care hospital with a Level I trauma designation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Cardiac Cath Lab (1 year of experience)
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Monitoring of procedural sedation
  • Experience with Cerner

Clinical Experience Needed

  • Circulating procedures
  • Diagnostic catheterizations for adults
  • Left heart catheterization
  • Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
  • Right heart catheterization
  • Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Schedule / Assignment Details

  • Weekend work required: 2–3 weekends per contract
  • On-call required as needed
  • May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days

Additional Notes

  • Cerner experience required
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Parking permit required at no cost
  • 5-room unit with an average daily census of 25
