Description
NICU Registered Nurse
Location
- Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Main need is for nights
- Weekends are desired but negotiable
- Holidays may be required as scheduled
- No call or standby requirement
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- Registered Nurse with 2+ years of experience in a Level 3 NICU or higher
- Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission
- Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
- PALS
- Experience with assessment of neonates, IVs, medication administration, feeding, vent care, and CPAP care
- EPIC familiarity
Unit Details
- Level IV NICU
- 50 beds
- Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 in ICU; 1:3 or 1:4 in NSDU
- Common patient types include micro preemie, preemie grower, surgical, BPD, NAS, genetic anomalies, and cardiac
- Drips may include dopamine, dobutamine, prostins, insulin, and sedation
- Charge nurse/house supervisor coverage is both
- Nurse aides are present, 2 per shift
- Neonatologist is in house 24/7
- Respiratory therapy equipment is available
- Monitored beds are present; nurses are not required to read strips
Floating
- May float to PICU, Inpatient Pediatrics, and Labor & Delivery
Dress Code
- Pewter gray scrubs
Additional Notes
- Can be placed in stepdown if vent/CPAP experience is limited
- Orientation is provided by NICU clinical preceptors and depends on experience
