Director of Training

Location

  • Bronx, New York

Contract

  • 14 weeks
  • 35 hours per week
  • 7 hours per day

Role Summary

  • Provides spiritual assessment, pastoral care, and spiritual counseling for patients, families, and staff.
  • Documents patient care in the medical record and the Spiritual Care Department shared drive.
  • Supports patients across routine visits, serious illness, intensive care, and pre- and post-operative settings.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Certified Educator, ACPE
  • Educator experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients to assess spiritual needs and preferences for pastoral care.
  • Communicates spiritual assessments to other members of the care team.
  • Provides counseling and support related to ethical, moral, and end-of-life concerns.
  • Performs timely visits for newly admitted, seriously ill, pre-operative, and post-operative patients.
  • Maintains documentation according to department policies.

Additional Information

  • Works under the general professional direction of the Associate Director of Spiritual Care.
  • Uses Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
