Description
Med/Surg Float RN
Location
- Little Rock, Arkansas
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift, 12 hours
- 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
Unit Details
- Float pool assignment across Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
- 128-bed Med/Surg unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Total care; no patient care assistants
- Remote tele monitoring
- Charge nurse is present and takes an assignment
- Nurse aides/patient care techs are available; ratios vary
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating required to any Med/Surg pod
- Navy scrubs required
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS certification
- Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience
Clinical Focus
- Surgical patients: colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic
- Medical patients: diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions
Orientation
- 3 shifts of unit/department orientation
Additional Notes
- No tele on the unit, except occasional strip reading
- Respiratory therapy is readily available for support
- Transitioning to EPIC in 11/2026
