Critical Care Float
Location
- Newport News, Virginia
Job Type

Schedule
- Night shift
- 3x12 hours
- 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- May be scheduled to work holidays during the assignment period
- Flexible scheduling preferred
Assignment Details
- Critical care float pool for Critical Care Units
- Unit coverage includes SICU, MICU, CCU, and OICU
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- Critical Care Float experience
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
Additional Compliance Requirements
- Annual stroke education CEUs for RNs in acute care hospitals
- Background check
- Fingerprinting
- TB screening
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
- Drug screen within the last 12 months
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccine series preferred; if not provided, a facility-specific declination is required when applicable
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation or acceptable alternatives
- Driver’s license or state ID
- E-Verify
