Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• 12-hour evening shifts, 11:00 to 23:00

Schedule

• 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No self-scheduling
• Block scheduling may be available if it meets unit needs
• Fri/Sat/Sun option available
• Floating as needed based on unit census

Unit Overview

• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 on days through 23:00; 1:5-6 on nights after 23:00
• Cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post-cath lab and post-cardiac surgery cases
• Central telemetry unit monitors non-critical care patients
• Charge nurse takes a modified assignment
• Nurse aides are on the unit

Required Qualifications

• Active RN experience in a busy hospital environment
• 2 years of recent RN experience
• Experience with post-procedural cath lab patients
• Experience managing TR band compression devices
• Experience managing chest pain
• Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients
• ACLS
• BLS

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips
• Perform incentive spirometry

Support Services / Equipment

• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• RT assists with CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm
• RT performs nebulizers and inhalers

Orientation

• 1 shift of HR onboarding
• 1 shift on the unit

Additional Notes

• No call or standby unless it is an extra shift
• No scrubs provided
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• If previously worked for this employer, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
