Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Seattle, Washington
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- IV Certification
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Open heart surgery experience
- Vascular surgery experience
- Groin and radial band management experience
- Experience with Epic
Work Expectations
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Floating to like units is required
- Every other weekend is required
Clinical Setting
- Surgical cardiac telemetry unit
- Common patient populations include myocardial infarction, rule-out MI, arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke with cardiac involvement
- May care for patients needing specialized structural heart support, including VAD and TAVR
- Typical responsibilities include telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, blood product administration, breathing treatments, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, and LVAD care
Additional Notes
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, with up to 1:5 at midnight
- Candidates from other Providence facilities outside Swedish may be eligible if separated for at least 3 months
