Surgical Tech — Travel Contract

Location

• Grass Valley, California

Assignment Details

• 13-week travel contract
• Day shift
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of surgical tech experience
• Active BLS certification

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• 2 supervisor references required at submittal, including:

  • 1 reference within the last 12 months
  • 1 reference within the last 3 years worked
• Modules must be completed before the assignment starts

Schedule / Work Expectations

• No regular weekend schedule
• 1 weekend call per month
• Call requirements vary
• Travelers work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s
• Holiday time off may be considered but is not guaranteed
• First to float

Unit / Clinical Setting

• Operating room with 3 suites, usually 2 in use
• Common cases include orthopedic, ortho trauma, and general surgery
• Strong orthopedic background preferred

Orientation

• 1 to 2 days in the operating room with a preceptor
