PreOp RN Travel/Contract Job
Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: Santa Rosa, California
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12 hours; variable start times from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM and end times from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Unit setting: Pre/Post area for Surgery, Endo, Cath, IR, Radiology, and Infusions
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Preoperative experience within the last year
- 2 years of preoperative experience
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
Additional Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Sex offender search required within 90 days of start
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and then monthly
- Education verification required for highest level achieved, unless highest education level is high school
- Employment application must include full 7-year work history with no gaps
- Work history verification must cover up to 7 years and explain gaps over 30 days
- Unit-specific skills checklist required
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Fit test required within 1 year of start and renewed annually
- TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 90 days of start, with annual renewal for TB testing
- Drug screen required within 6 months of start
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Color vision deficiency, if present, must be documented by a licensed healthcare provider before start
- Candidate must review and sign required job and compliance documents before start
Notes
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred for RN positions
- References are required by the staffing process, not by the facility
