Description

NICU Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Cincinnati, Ohio
  • 13-week assignment
  • 3x12-hour rotating days/nights schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • 36 hours per week

Unit Details

  • Level IV NICU
  • High-acuity neonatal population, including surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological conditions
  • High volume of intubated and acute infants
  • Vent and trach experience required
  • Pediatric experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Compliance and Onboarding

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Social Security card or SSN
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation
  • Transcript, diploma, or education verification
  • 2 clinical references
  • 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting and in a similar area to the assignment
  • Background check, fingerprinting, and facility screening requirements
  • Unit-specific competency exam
  • Annual core competency requirements
  • Peds medication test with 100% passing score required for RN candidates
  • Health screening form
  • Signed criminal disclosure form
  • Scrub information provided before start

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam
  • Fit mask completed on-site during orientation
  • Tdap within 10 years of start
  • TB clearance required
  • TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
  • Drug screen required
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination not required

Additional Notes

  • Pediatric experience is preferred
  • Advanced NRP is required for NICU, and AAP or ARC certification is acceptable
