NICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Cincinnati, Ohio
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ventilator experience
• Tracheostomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric experience

Unit Details

• Level IV NICU with high-acuity surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological neonatal cases
• High volume of intubated and acute infants
• Common patient populations include prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, intraventricular hemorrhage, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, neonatal abstinence syndrome, necrotizing enterocolitis, tracheoesophageal fistula, myelomeningocele, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, gastroschisis, omphalocele, genetic defects, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, hydrocephalus, renal failure, seizure disorders, and pulmonary hypertension

Compliance / Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Social Security card required
• E-Verify proof or attestation required
• Transcript, diploma, or education verification required
• Background check required
• Fingerprinting completed onsite on the first day
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Unit-specific competency exam required and updated annually
• Core Parts I, II, and III required and updated annually
• Peds medication test required for all RNs
• Health screening form required before start
• Senate Bill 38 criminal disclosure required before start
• Scrub information provided before start

Health Requirements

• Physical exam required and updated annually
• Fit mask completed onsite during orientation
• Tdap required within 10 years of start
• TB clearance required
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation required
• Drug screen required
• Flu vaccination required during flu season
• COVID vaccination not required
