Respiratory Care Practitioner II
Overview
- Location: Palo Alto, California
- Schedule: Nights, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in California
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
Key Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations
- Assist with orientation and training of Level I and Level II therapists and students
- Perform intra-hospital transports with mechanical ventilators and airway protection, including safe operation in the MRI scanner
- Deliver nitric oxide, nitrogen, heliox, and other specialty gases
- Initiate and maintain pulmonary vasodilators
- Complete orientations in intensive care units and acute care areas
- Evaluate medical orders and participate in clinical rounds
- Respond to emergency department consults and emergencies across service areas
- Educate patients, families, and the care team
- Serve on the code/rapid response team
