Description

Operating Room RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in York, Pennsylvania
  • Day shift: 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Key role details

  • Special scheduling requests and blocked scheduling cannot be approved
  • Travelers are expected to work as needed by the unit
  • Manager interview required
  • Clinical pre-screen is completed before manager review
  • Candidate should be able to work independently across operating room specialties, including robotics, orthopedics, general, GYN, urology, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, vascular, thoracic, and trauma
  • Scrubbing and circulating are preferred
  • COVID patient care may be required

Required experience

  • 3 years of operating room experience
  • Operating room experience within the last year
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
  • Prior travel experience required
  • One completed travel assignment
  • Orthopedics experience
  • Urology experience
  • Bariatric experience
  • ENT Surgery experience
  • Plastic Surgery experience
  • Vascular Surgery experience
  • Thoracic Surgery experience
  • Proficiency with Davinci xi robot, functioning independently with no need for refresher training
  • Familiarity with DV5 Davinci robot

Required qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • NURSYS verification
  • State license verification
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing
  • Basic Relias Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
  • Competency exam
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam, as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification, if required for the assignment
  • TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
  • NRP, if required for the assignment

Scheduling expectations

  • 2–3 call shifts within a 6-week matrix, with a 30-minute response time
  • 3–4 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrix
  • Holidays as needed
  • Floating as needed
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off

Compliance and onboarding

  • 2 professional references required within 3 years of start
  • Most recent resume/application required
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Education verification required
  • Background check, fingerprinting, child abuse search, and state-specific search results are required
  • Drug testing, fit testing, and health screening documentation are required
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination, exemption, or declination is required
