Description
ICU RN
Location
- Burien, Washington
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- No call or standby requirement
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Washington RN license; pending license accepted for submission
- 2 full years of ICU experience
Clinical Experience
- Ventilated patients
- Cath lab recovery
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- Titrating drips
Unit Details
- ICU with 10 ICU beds and 21 PCU beds
- Typical ratios: 2:1 in ICU and 3:1 in PCU
- Charge nurse available 24 hours; house supervisor available 1500-0700
- Intensivist available 0800-1500; hospitalist available 24 hours
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7
- Remote monitor techs present; nurses read their own strips
Floating
- Primarily ICU, with float to PCU and med-surg units when needed
- May float throughout Region One, including Federal Way and Seattle locations
Scheduling and Orientation
- Centralized scheduling
- 1 shift of orientation
Work Environment
- Common patient types include COVID, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, and DKA
- Common drips include sedation, pressors, diuretics, insulin, and amiodarone
- No set scrub color; professional scrubs of any color are allowed
