RN (Registered Nurse) — Tele Float Pool
Location
- Redding, California
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday requirements vary
- No call or standby requirement
Unit Details
- 38 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1 to 5:1
- Float pool role; floats to med-surg and telemetry
- Unit has monitor techs; RN must read their own strips
- Charge nurse does not take patients
- Unit aides are present; ratio varies
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in telemetry/stepdown
- BLS
- ACLS
Clinical Skills / Patient Care
- Must titrate drips
- Common titratable or set-rate drips include insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem
- Common patient types include ETOH, DKA, heart failure, sepsis, stroke, GI surgery, GU surgery, and joint replacements
- Respiratory equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Orientation
- 1 day per unit
