Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location

• Oxnard, California
• Float pool assignment based at one facility and required to float to another nearby facility

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Travel contract

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• 2 full years of experience
• Experience with drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience preferred
• Experience with chest tubes preferred

Unit / Assignment Details

• Telemetry float pool role
• High-acuity patient population
• May float to telemetry, med-surg, emergency department holds, and related units
• Nurses are expected to read telemetry strips
• Limited support resources on the unit
• Positive attitude, compassion, and adaptability are emphasized

Clinical Environment

• Common patient types include pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, COPD, post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients
• Drips used include amiodarone, Cardizem, and heparin
• May receive BiPAP or CPAP patients
• Chest tubes are preferred experience
