Tele Float Pool RN

Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced telemetry RN in California
• 13-week assignment
• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
• Float pool role with required floating between units and facilities

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• 2 full years of experience
• Experience with drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience preferred
• Experience with chest tubes preferred

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Holidays required: one major and one minor

Work Setting

• Telemetry-focused inpatient hospital role
• High-acuity patient population
• Float coverage includes telemetry, med-surg, ER holds, and related units
• Orientation includes time on the home unit and other assigned units

Clinical Notes

• Nurses must be able to read telemetry strips
• Common patient types include pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
• Drips used include amiodarone, Cardizem, and heparin; titration is not required
• Vents are not typical on one unit, though BiPAP/CPAP may be seen

• Navy scrubs
• Charge nurse support is available
• Nurse aides are present based on census
• Limited resources and busy workflow should be expected
