Description
Tele Float Pool RN
Overview
- Travel contract for an experienced telemetry RN in California
- 13-week assignment
- Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
- Float pool role with required floating between units and facilities
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- 2 full years of experience
- Experience with drips
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel experience preferred
- Experience with chest tubes preferred
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Holidays required: one major and one minor
Work Setting
- Telemetry-focused inpatient hospital role
- High-acuity patient population
- Float coverage includes telemetry, med-surg, ER holds, and related units
- Orientation includes time on the home unit and other assigned units
Clinical Notes
- Nurses must be able to read telemetry strips
- Common patient types include pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
- Drips used include amiodarone, Cardizem, and heparin; titration is not required
- Vents are not typical on one unit, though BiPAP/CPAP may be seen
Additional Details
- Navy scrubs
- Charge nurse support is available
- Nurse aides are present based on census
- Limited resources and busy workflow should be expected
