ICU RN
Overview
- Travel contract for an ICU nurse in California.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
Unit Details
- Unit: ICU & CCU
- 20 beds
- Ratios: 1:2, may be 1:1
- Charge nurse: Yes
- Nurse aides: Yes
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Typically one major and one minor holiday
- Scrub color: Navy
- Floating: May float to IMCU (stepdown) or Observation
- Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS
- ACLS
- NIH
- CA License
- 2 full years of experience
- At least 3 years of ICU experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel experience preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- General ICU experience preferred
- Neuro or cardiac specific experience will be considered
Clinical Experience / Patient Population
- Neuro surgery patients, including craniotomies, carotids, ventriculostomies, and ICP monitoring
- Open heart
- Post caths
- Impellas
- Balloon pumps
- No CRRT or ECMO
Additional Clinical Notes
- Drips used include vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, dobutamin, dopamin, propofol, and fentanyl
- Vents: Yes
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Tele/Monitor techs: Phillips; nurses are required to read strips
