Description
CVICU RN
Overview
- Travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina
- 13-week contract
- 48 hours per week
- Unit: 65020 ICU
- 28-bed mixed ICU
- Travelers are first to float; float destinations include the emergency department and PCU for PCU or ICU holds
- Schedule includes 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
- Navy uniform required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- 36 months of RN experience
- 1 year of ICU experience
- CVICU (3 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Ventilator management experience
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
- Advanced hemodynamics experience
- Phlebotomy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- Advanced Certifications
- TNCC certification
- Experience with Meditech
Clinical Experience / Skills
- CRRT
- Advanced hemodynamics
- Phlebotomy
- Administering breathing treatments outside the ICU, including inhalers and nebulizers
- Post-op day 0 CABG
- Impellas
- Balloon pumps
- Swan Ganz
- Neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
- EVDs
- Bolts
- Codman
- Artic Sun with induced hypothermia
- Head and neck flap procedures
Additional Notes
- Bedside shift report is used for handoff
- Travelers may be trained to become a Neuro ICU nurse or Cardiovascular ICU nurse
