Description
RN - PCU
Location
- Nashville, Tennessee
Contract
- Travel assignment
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
- Weekend requirement: 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Med Surg experience
- Maintenance of chest tubes
Unit Details
- 20-bed neuro med/surg unit
- Patient ratio: 6:1
- Tech support available on day and night shifts
- Unit secretary available 7a–7p
- Floating is required when needed, based on rotation if multiple contract staff are scheduled
Clinical Skills / Experience
- Med/surg experience
- Ability to prioritize care and multitask
- Start IVs
- Basic wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Patient Care Expectations
- Provide attentive and compassionate care
- Give bedside shift report
- Build personal connections with patients and include them and their family members in the plan of care
Additional Notes
- Navy scrubs required
- Meditech is used for documentation
