Description
MedSurg RN
Overview
- MedSurg RN needed ASAP in west-central Indiana.
- Specialty/unit: MedSurg/tele - Acuity care unit
- Unit details: 1 floor, all units
- Beds: 22 total (3 LDRP, 2 ICU)
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- 1 year within specialty
- Must be able to read and interpret strips
Preferred
- PALS
- Travel preferred
Clinical Details
- Patient population: Mainly geriatric and adult
- Common diagnoses/types of patients: COPD, CHF, PN, abdominal pain, minor surgical, SBO, covid
- RN titration of drips required
- Common titratable/set-rate drip: Heparin
- No vents on the unit; Cpap and BiPap are used
- Nurse aids are on the unit: 2 on days, 1 on nights
- Charge nurse/house supervisor support: Manager available Monday-Friday; House Supervisor available nights and weekends
- Ratios: 1:6 on both shifts
Schedule
- Shift: Nights, 7-7
- Hours: 36 per week
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Rotate in with perm staff
- Self-scheduling is used, but final schedule is balanced by the manager
- Block scheduling is allowed but not guaranteed
Assignment Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 2 days
- Scrub color/dress code: Steel Gray
