Med Surg/Telemetry RN

Overview

• Temp assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract
• Unit size: 20 to 34 beds
• Typical patient ratio: 1:6
• Dress code: personal scrubs of any color

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience with post-op patients
• Orthopedic experience
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Driver's License
• Willingness to float to any MS unit
• Traveler must have their own vehicle
• Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool)

Preferred Qualifications

• Meditech Expanse experience

Scheduling and Availability

• Requested time off must be noted and verified at upload
• No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted
• Travelers may not take all holidays off
• Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed:

  • Thanksgiving Day, Friday after, and the weekend after
  • Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after
  • New Year Eve through New Year Day and the weekend after
• Block scheduling is not accepted
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission
• At least two specific interview date/time options must be included in the profile

Float Scope

• May float to any MS unit

Submission Notes

• Perm address must be included in the profile
• Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Voicemail must be set up on the traveler’s phone
• Profiles must include:

  • Work history
  • Current Medical Surgical skills checklist
  • One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
  • Massachusetts RN license
  • Active BLS
  • Active ACLS
  • NIHSS
