Overview
- Travel/contract role in Anchorage, Alaska
- Acute care hospital
- 152 staffed beds
- Evening shift: 3x12 hours, 15:00–3:30
- 36 hours per week
- Ratios: 1:4
- First-timers accepted
- Guaranteed hours: up to 40
- Every other weekend required
- Local candidates not accepted; local radius is 100 miles
- RTO allowed up to 1 week, with make-up time required at the end
- Holiday coverage expected, including up to 3 of 4 major holidays
- No on-call
- No floating within scope to meet facility needs
- Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population is required
- Patient population includes complex social history and domestic violence
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccine is highly preferred

Anchorage is a unique city surrounded by 5,000-foot-high peaks in the south-central part of Alaska along the Cook Inlet, where abundant salmon and whales swim through. It's filled with cultural sites, including many museums and the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which offers stage performances and displays traditional crafts and replicas of dwellings from indigenous groups in the area.
