Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool
Overview

Schedule
- Shift: Day or night, 3x12 hours
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; blocked weekend scheduling may be available
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
Clinical setting
- Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2; if floated to NICU, ratio may be 1:3
- Float expectations: May float within scope between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU
- Facility type: Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma
- Bed count: 320 staffed beds
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- 2 years of Critical Care Float experience
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
- CVPICU experience
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- CHEMO - Chemotherapy
