Respiratory Therapy Meridian Hospital Flr 1

Overview

  • Role: Respiratory Therapist
  • Specialty/Unit: Respiratory Therapy Meridian Hospital Flr 1
  • Location: Meridian, Idaho
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 36 per week, 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

  • RRT
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • NRP for NICU
  • 2 years of experience
  • Must be able to care for adults, pediatrics, and NICU patients
  • Must be comfortable floating between specialties including ICU, MICU, MS-Tele, and ER
  • Must be able to assist with intubation only

Preferred

  • Level II NICU experience
  • Comfortable going to deliveries and initiating CPAP
  • Pediatric ER experience with stabilized and transferred-out patients

Clinical Setting

  • Covers ER and inpatient areas, including all floors
  • Patient mix includes NICU Level IIb, MICU, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, PACU treatments, and overnight oximetry
  • Typical workload is 25–28 treatments per 8-hour shift
  • Respiratory equipment includes Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, and EPOC

Scheduling and Float

  • Self-scheduling
  • No block scheduling
  • May need to trade shifts and rotate between shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • May be asked to join holiday rotation
  • Optional call with 30-minute response time
  • Can float throughout the hospital and may also float to sister facilities in Nampa and Boise
  • May be asked to float mid-shift with at least 60 minutes’ notice

Orientation

  • 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
  • Typically includes 1 day of NICU/General and 1 day of ICU

Additional Notes

  • Stable is not required
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Must be outside the 50-mile radius rule
