Description
Radiology Technologist
Overview
- Specialty: Radiology
- Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina
- Employment type: Long term
- Shift: Monday–Friday, either 1:00 PM–9:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit / Department
- X-ray department
- Covers routine x-rays, portable exams, fluoroscopy exams, OR C-arms, Endoscopy suite, pain management, and the Kayden outpatient center across the street from the hospital
- Performs scheduled Dexa exams, walk-in routine x-rays, and image-guided arthrograms fluoroscopically for MRI
Required Qualifications
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience
- ARRT (RT)
- RT-R
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science
Preferred
- Experience working with EPIC
- Certification and experience working with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and perform radiological (X-ray) imaging
- Read imaging orders and consult with physicians when orders are unclear, complex, or warrant deeper review
- Select appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters
- Interview patients to identify safety-related risk factors
- Guide and reassure patients through examinations
- Upload imaging results into PACS
- Record information into the EMR system
